Resilience, Teamwork, Unity

June 6, 2022 (Boulder, CO) - Whoa. After 6 months of arduous effort our new look side showed tremendous grit, quality and steel to become Colorado Super League Champions. We knew the winter break would not be kind to us, preseason could get ugly and spring season would be a major transition of squad personnel. This said we asked everyone to trust the process, to welcome in the next generation, and to pass on their collective knowledge of the standards required by our club. Thankfully everything came to fruition on our Final Match Day. Harpos 1-0 FC Denver in another tough battle. We love it when a plan comes together. Now it’s time to celebrate our journey. Then we will reflect upon lessons learned and all areas for continuous improvement. Well done to our ballers, coaches, fans and sponsors for a memorable league championship experience. We are hungry for more!

The Next Generation

April 11, 2022 (Boulder, CO) - We are going through a rebuilding phase. Our veterans are retiring, slowing down or transitioning to our Over 30 (OG) team. Our core bros are carrying a number of knocks, some season-ending injuries and others are missing in action due to priority commitments. Our newbies are adapting to all things Harpos while getting thrown into the deep end vs USL professional clubs. It’s true that you can only improve by playing vs better opponents and that’s certainly been the case in recent scrimmages. But despite being below our lofty standards, we embrace this learning experience and continue bringing in fresh talent. Now we get back to our regularly scheduled programming of weekly trainings in Superior and weekend games in Denver with our next generation squad starting to take shape for the spring season run in. Our best is yet to come together.

Trust the Process

February 20, 2022 (Boulder, CO) - After a 4 month break, Preseason is officially on. Scrimmages are underway. Training begins this week. Coaches, core bros and new ballers are slowly but surely ramping up while trialists are doing their best to impress. Although it’s early days we have been pleased with the step by step progression of the squad. It’s always a challenge to rebuild while honoring our past and innovating for our future, but we’ve been there and done that several times before. We will continue with our commitment to high quality standards on and off the pitch. It’s essential to trust the process as we take on local, college and professional teams in the build up to Colorado Super League spring season start on March 20.

New in 22

January 15, 2022 (Boulder, CO) - What a surreal experience in our backyard as raging wildfires tore through Superior and Louisville destroying more than 1,000 homes and throwing thousands of lives into complete disarray. So many colleagues, friends and citizens suffered losses but the community has rallied with trademark resilience. Our club staff, players and families were fortunately all accounted for and we’re eternally grateful. However many folks are still reeling while the rebuilding gets underway. As we’re stronger together, Harpos has donated cash to Boulder County Wildfire Fund and several GoFundMe causes, provided items to relief distribution centers and volunteered in neighborhoods to help those in need. On a more personal note, our home ground of Williams Field in Superior seemed engulfed in fire from live reports online, but somehow the turf pitch, wood sheds and metal stadium lights survived the blaze; what a local miracle! We’re thankful for this blessing and look forward to returning once the air quality is better and facility is approved for safe usage. None of us could have imagined the quick and utter devastation, but now we dust ourselves down, rise up and go again. In more ways than one, as we head into preseason, our theme here is all things new in 2022.

Always Be Adapting

December 9, 2021 (Boulder, CO) - It’s been a wild ride this year full of twists, turns and unexpected events but we persevered through everything together. On the pitch OG won Colorado Premier League spring season, Vail Invitational Silver Division and Colorado Premier League fall season trophies. U23 had their inaugural trainings and scrimmages during the summer which went well and the future is bright for this group. FC won Colorado Super League spring season title but had learning experiences in other leagues and tournaments finals highlighted by not qualifying for U.S. Open Cup. This result was extremely disappointing and frustrating for our squad but it wasn’t meant to be. However, when one door closes, another door opens. We head into the yuletide season with our health intact and commitment to growing Harpos stronger than ever. There are many moves and strategic decisions to be made in the weeks and months ahead, but trust they will all be in support of our club and fans moving Onwards and Upwards as a united futbol family. Happy Holidays!
