History
Harpos FC™ was established in 1997 as the Barrel House by CU-Boulder undergraduates Chris Hardin and Scotty Schuett. Johnny Freeston became good friends with the old school and joined as a player in 2005, took over managerial responsibilities in 2008 and built a new elite club starting in 2010. Johnny is Founder & Managing Director. Steve Lepper is Technical Advisor. Kyle Lineberger, Kevin Pugh and Jason Green are Coaches. Jeff Jennings is Club Captain. Juddy McKinney and Daniel Whittle are Captains. Harpos home fields are Williams Turf Field in Superior and Dick’s Sporting Goods Park Complex in Commerce City. We play in the Colorado Super League, the most competitive league in the Centennial State. Our core players hail from 14 states, Argentina, Mexico and Japan with our average age being 25 years old. All of us have played college and semipro ball with some bros having played professionally in Argentina, Germany, Spain, Sweden, USL and MLS.
Our flagship sponsors are Adidas, Improper City Denver + Rayback Collective and Peak Sports Travel. This current incarnation of Harpos is comprised of several stalwart players from the CU-Boulder Men's Club Team who won the NIRSA National Championship. We have won dozens of trophies including Breckenridge Tournament, Colorado Premier League & Community Shield, Copa Alianza Denver, PASL Rocky Mountain Division, USSSA Colorado State Cup and Fred Ammer Vail Invitational Tournament. We are also 103rd and 104th Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup 2nd Round Cinderella Story #bullshitpubteam. 2017 saw us win an historic "Quintuple" of trophies while taking on Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC USL and Mexico Men's National Team. 2018 was continued league dominance and a rebuilding process. 2019 saw our new look squad win “The Treble.” 2020 we qualified for the 107th Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup amidst the Covid climate. 2021 we accomplished our goal of switching competitions and winning the Colorado Super League at 10-0-0. We appreciate your continued passionate support as we embark on our next epic run in qualifying for #usoc2022
These triumphs have made us insatiably hungry for additional success which is why we offer First Team (FC) and Over 30 Team (OG) opportunities. Our goals are to unite people from all walks of life, to give them an opportunity to be a part of something bigger than themselves and to give back to our growing community. It's time to win every single scrimmage, game and tournament that we enter this year. We are always moving Onwards and Upwards!!
